Hi all,

I'm fairly new to ubuntu (and SCSI devices).

I have a HP Proliant DL380 G3 server with Ubuntu Server 9.10

I have a HP Storageworks Ultrium 215 tape device

For some reason the Ubuntu server does not find the tape device

Anybody any ideas on how to start. Like I said ... I'm fairly new to ubuntu and scsi

Kind regards,
Chris

Same issue here actually. Can't get it to work under ubuntu at all.

HP probably provides a proprietary driver for the Storageworks Ultrium device, have you checked their site for any drivers or utilities?

Yes no joy though. I will be calling them tomorrow to see what's what.

Well no luck - had a 30 minute augment with HP over whether you can extract a Unix driver from a windows exe package...

What was their solution? Did you ever get this working? I want to purchase a tape drive, and start to build my skills on Linux backup solutions, specifically dealing with tapes.

Thanks...Cheer!!!
