In windows, I have used palm since 2003, with palm desktop syncing. I don't like the proprietary format, where open office cannot spreadsheet out the contact database. This architecture lead several problems. I also never got why most people sync it with a outlook, which I assume you must buy for hundreds of dollars.

Now, I got palm up an loaded with data, how would I sync it to Ubuntu machine, and what program on Ubuntu. Again, a good program would export a cvs that could be quickly read by 123 or openoffice to print out your contacts (sort etc.), memos, etc. And, perhaps to transfer into a future pocket sized pim that is cable synced and no $12,000 a decade phone company.

thanks.

You can sync with Evolution or JPilot. Evolution is like Outlook.

So, you just install evolution or jpilot and plug in device?

Would be great if they could replace outlook in windows too.
