View Full Version : [ubuntu] Boot from USB

I have Intel D845glva motherboard and ubuntu 9.10
I have created start up disk from both Ubuntu and universal usb installer. I have a 2gb and a 8gb pendrive. I tried booting with both but it says no boot device. I have also configued it in BIOS to boot from usb. but still it shows --->Select proper boot device .......
Help pls.

some computers will not boot from usb devices...period. I don't know if this is the case for you.
I have used unetbootin quite a few times, and find it works very well. I have also done my own formatting and file installation for bootable usb, and once tried the program I think you are talking about. I did not have any luck with it either.

have a look with gparted about this USB disk and see if its bootable paritition is selected.
