My question is this:

How can a USB flash drive stick be made such that you can plug it into a Windows machine, run something on it, and have an ubuntu environment operating?

Changes made (such as favorites created in Firefox) and files created should be stored on the flash drive. It would be acceptable for things to be temp on the Windows machine's hard drive, but no permanent changes to it should occur, and any temp created files should not remain.

Is this possible?
