Hello and Good Day!
I am really new here, despite one other post, and only a few weeks into ubuntu.

This other post was about the Broadcom 4306 wireless device and some windows driver and ndiswrapper: long story short ... it did not work.
I removed the bcmwl5(a) driver succesfully.
but could not uninstall ndiswrapper.
and i think this is whats causing the 70 seconds delay during boot - which used to be about 10 to 15 seconds before.
what could ndiswrapper have done to my system?

Anyways, since my install of Karmic Koala was less than a week old, I just put on a fresh install today in the morning.
Still experience this annoying delay!!!

I did some search and found a post where it says to run the following command:

dmesg | moreand here are the lines where there's the delay:

[ 2.236083] usb usb1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

[ 183.292174] ohci_hcd 0000:00:02.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2Please, can anybody help me here?
Any tips for cure?

If the expert among you needs more or all the lines, then I can post them up as well!

Thanks a lot,

bump:

today I checked the BIOS and the time was off by about 1 hour.
adjusted that.

then I ran the "dmesg | more" command again and got the following:

[ 0.950167] usb usb1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 0.950228] hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found
[ 0.950246] hub 1-0:1.0: 6 ports detected

[ 0.950578] ohci_hcd 0000:00:02.0: enabling device (0004 -> 0006)
[ 61.923527] Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = 60928883919 ns)
[ 61.924191] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LUS0] enabled at IRQ 20
[ 61.924198] alloc irq_desc for 20 on node 0
[ 61.924203] alloc kstat_irqs on node 0
notice that the time code is now different?
what could this mean?

Please help!

Thanks.

I think I know whats going on:
booted the laptop without any cables attached, it was perfect, only about 10 secc delay ...

then tried with just the LAN-cable and just the USB-cable from the cordless mouse receiver, and guess what, the two USB-ports on the left side of my HP compaq nx9105 cause a boot delay, if the mouse-receiver is plugged in there.
If I plug that receiver into the single USB-port on the right side, it works!

those lines from the boot protocol are from a boot with just LAN-cable plugged, and when the boot was finished, I plugged USB-mouse-receiver in and the following lines were added:

[ 42.010182] usb 3-1: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2
[ 42.238850] usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

[ 42.342306] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid
[ 42.342310] usbhid: v2.6:USB HID core driver
Would you believe, that this really could make a difference?!?

and here the boot protocol from a boot with everything plugged in where it should be:
