I run Ubuntu, dual boot with Win 7, on an HP laptop, and ever since I upgraded to 9.10 a couple of months ago, booting just freezes to a black screen from normal mode. Safe mode generally works, but lately I've been facing another issue: after I get the blue screen prompting me to choose whether to continue booting, the keyboard freezes and I cannot select any option. This usually happens for a couple of times, and then around the 3rd reboot, everything works just fine. I thought it was a bug with the then current kernel, but it's been happening for the past 3 releases already. Anyone have any idea on how this could be fixed?
