Hello,

Since a while I'm experimenting with virtualization in VMware Server 2. Before we have this situation:

1 Server: Quad Core AMD, 1GB Ethernet NIC, 8GB RAM (DDR3) and 2TB of storage. The TC's are connected with Gigabit, server too.

Server had a host installation of Windows Server 2008 R2, TC's connecting via RDP. The speed was so fast I could watch youtube clips flawlessly.

Now the we have this situation.

1 Server: Quad Core AMD, 1GB Ethernet NIC, 8GB RAM (DDR3) and 2TB of storage. The TC's are connected with Gigabit, server too.

Server have a host installation of Ubuntu 64 bit, running VMware server. On the vm Windows Server 2008 R2 is installed. But:

The speed is very slow. Where I can before load a page in Firefox directly, it takes now about 2 seconds to load a page. Youtube clips are faltering.

Now I found this nice (http://arunpc.com/2008/03/01/vmware-server-increasing-speeds-of-vmnets/) article, but it apply's on Windows only. Any tips?
