View Full Version : [SOLVED] Minimal Kubuntu install and go from there

March 7th, 2010, 03:47 PM
Hi there,

I found a howto, to get a minimal ubuntu installation, just installing the bare minimum:

I was wondering if there's any howto for kubuntu available.

Or maybe I could get the same with:

installing alternative cd
apt-get install kde-core
and work from there

Am I correct by saying that my graphics-card, sound, webcam and wired internet will be covered by the kernel? They all worked out of the box with a full Kubuntu install.
Cause in that case, I'll be experimenting soon! :P

Of course it works!

sudo apt-get install kde-minimal;)

Don't you just love ubuntu?!

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm still getting used to keep things simple...

If you want a minimal kde installation,
type: sudo apt-get install kde-minimal
