Hi,
I'm using ubuntu 9.10 on a IBM thinkpad T43 and I am having problems getting the ring switcher to work with compiz-fusion. From what I understand, ring switcher replaces the ALT+TAB functionality and replaces it with a 3D effect. All other compiz things are working, I just cannot seem to nut this one out.
Thanks,
Brett.

There's a very nice little program called Simple CompizConfig Settings Manager which is a simplified frontend to the illogically complicated CompizConfing Settings Manager (duh) :p
You can install it by terminal:
sudo apt-get install simple-ccsm
Or by the Software Center. (search for simple compiz or sth like that)
Then open the app by System -> Preferences -> Simple CompizConfig Settings Manager.
Select "Effects" tab and from a dropdown menu in "Switcher" select "Ring Swithcer"
There are some other options you might like ;)

hey, thanks', that has made everything alot easier, but how do I find out the key bindings for it? I have no windows key on my laptop (T43 Thinkpad) I have a Fn key but that + TAB doesn't work.

ok, sorry, got it working.
I was after another feature. When you use ALT+TAB to get a 3D effect instead of the default gnome switcher.

 Thanks for the help. Figured it out. Finally :)
The feature I was looking for was Focus Window.
