Old news, but the results are in!

Ubuntu wins Desktop Distribution of the Year again, with 30.13% of the votes. Runner-up is Slackware (a Linuxquestions.org favourite) with 16.74%. Honourable mentions to Fedora and Debian with 9.78% and 8.90%, respectively.

However, Ubuntu LTS didn't fare well in the Server Distribution of the Year category, placing 5th with 12.22% of the votes. The winner was Debian with 24.24%, with Slackware nipping at its heels with 21.79%. Honourable mentions go to CentOS and RHEL with 15.48% and 12.63%, respectively.

On the desktop, Gnome edged out over KDE with 41.96% of the votes, but KDE was well within grasp with 40.37%. Xfce was a distant third with 11.29%. LXDE was the dark horse, shouldering out the remaining competitors with 4.66%.
