Hey if I make a usb key a install key. Can I go in there and updated the ubuntu and then install the new updates when I reinstall the drive.


Any help would be good to know.

If I have correctly parsed your sentence, you are asking "If I create a Live USB, boot it and update it, then install Ubuntu on another drive, will the updates be carried over?"

My wild assed guess is "no". Any updates to the Live USB would be stored on the persistent partition and would not alter the content of the install image.
