So after reading this (http://guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5770-review-test/11) where it says you need at least 40amps available for the HD 5770, I am starting to wonder if my power supply will be able to run this card. The wattage isn't what I am so much concerned with since my PS is 850 watts, but I don't see where they get that number from. The ATI/AMD site says the MAX wattage for the 5770 is 108w. With a 12v supply that is only 9A.

I have this, the Antec CP-850 (http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=NzIw).

I am finding it hard to believe a 850 watt PS wouldn't be able to run a mid-level GFX card. But I have missed more blatantly obvious things before so I feel I should post this just in case.

I think that PSU's amperage on +12 rail is 64A (combined).

Edit: 'just read someone claimed 64A.

This author figures the HD Radeon 5770 requires 34A:

..and 500w total min. It seems you'd be fine with that PSU but don't quote me on that. ;)

Thanks. After reading a bunch in there I am thinking I am correct it the card itself only needing 9A.

I found this gem of a link inside that link you gave me.

It seems when they quote these numbers they are referring to a single 12v rail. That makes it confusing when they say it requires X amps, since you don't need near that number if you have a dedicated PCIe 12v rail on the PS.
