installation?

Ok well i install unbuntu on my lappy with a external cd drive and dureing the installation it said it had a error installing it and said sumthing about io or driver or something but ubuntu loaded up after i pressed ok. Should i be worried or anything?-edit- there is a install 9.10 thingy on the desk top of ubuntu. I'm assuming it didnt install?

It sounds like it didn't install. You are probably running Ubuntu in Live CD mode. To install Ubuntu click on the install icon on the Desktop and follow the instructions.
