View Full Version : Ubuntu Karmic vs Redhat 5.4 as Xen dom0

I'm looking to consolidate a couple of windows boxes and some linux machines on to one piece of hardware using Xen.

I investigated using Karmic, but when I started reading the docs I was a little dismayed to learn you need to bring over a Debian kernel with Xen support. Should I be using Hardy for a production Xen server?

RHEL 5.4 has a Xen kernel on the cd. I prefer a more open distro but should I be considering Redhat? I know this is an Ubuntu forum but I expect to get unbiased answers! :)

I personally use OpenSuse as a Xen dom0, and I'm very happy with it. If you want to go with RHEL, remember that if you don't need the official support, you can go with CentOS instead. ;)
