View Full Version : [ubuntu] Using XGA TV Monitor after Ubuntu Install - Blank Screen

I have recently installed Ubuntu as the primary (and only) OS on my system. After the install (9.10) I see the glowing Ubuntu logo followed by a screen flash then a blank/black screen. (no cursor/anything)

I'm a complete linux virgin - so don't have my head off when I ask this but:

Do I need to install my system's default driver's again and if so, could I do this whilst in the live CD Ubuntu testing mode? (the only thing that works)

I'm guessing I do since audio isn't working either.

please note: I have searched the forums extensively, but they all give suggestions to load the console or boot menu. This is not use, as my screen is BLANK with these too.

The only place I can get visual feedback is whilst testing Ubuntu (CD) and the glowing Ubuntu logo on bootup.

Many thanks,
Ollie
