Ubuntu Server Upgrade with Zoneminder?

Hi, I'm running Ubuntu Server 9.04 AMD64 with Zoneminder 1.23.3 and would like to upgrade to 9.10 but I'm wondering if the upgrade will properly upgrade Zoneminder to 1.24.1 with all my data intact. I found the following thread where surfer63 had some issues:

Would anyone care to share their (hopefully positive :)) experiences with this particular upgrade?
