It doesn't include the distince "G" shape at the bottom though.

I would say that's what makes the Gnome logo distinct.
Without that, they're just toes.

does look like the 'G' shape is there, just covered up by the words. However, they big toe at the top is noticibly different than the one on the gnome logo.

All I can see is a little dint to the right side. Nothing else.

I have toes on my feet. Does that mean I'm in violation of some kind of copyright or copyleft or something.

I'd hate to have to take my toes off. I've had them for a long time and I've kinda gotten used to them.
