Install on a 2 year old laptop

I am also wanting to install on a laptop which is about 2 years old.
I get the error message "ntldr is missing" when it boots up and doesnt recognise the disc even though it is set to boot from cd first!

any suggestions greatly appreciated

make sure you burned it as a iso, not data.
