I am running Ubuntu on a Dell Studio 15 w/8gig of ram and for the most part it is working great.

Some of the media buttons work. Mute, Volume Up/Down, next/previous song, switch monitors and the power indicator that tells me if my battery is charged or not.

But other buttons are being ignored. WiFi on/off, Brightness up/down, CD/DVD Eject

How do I get these other buttons to function? Brightness and eject are really important keys to me. At least with eject there is a way to kick the disk out but I can't find any type of brightness control any place.

Yes, I have seen people posting that brightness can be controlled from the power manager and that is not correct with Ubuntu 9.10 as all there is in the power manager is when to go to sleep and nothing about brightness.
