specs?
9.10 would be like installing xp, so if it can run xp, you should be fine.

About to do the same thing are you doing a stand alone install or dual boot?

I am doing a stand alone Ubuntu install wiping XP in the process.

Run the Live CD. If you have any problems with the Live CD, then likely the same problems will exist upon install.

No. Sod that, I love ubuntu 9.1, put it in my desktop system a couple of months ago and never looked back. Done standalone install on this laptop today and am writing this on it now. It just works! Wireless. Sound. Everything. With google chrome I've got fast browsing, and a fast (and free to me) laptop!
Awesome.
