Then why can't I use Watch it now on my PC with Linux? I know it has to do with Silverlight and Moonlight.... But if it works on 1 linux device, then why can't it work with all linux machines? Sorry if this is a dumb question thats been rehashed before..... So is the Roku player NOT open-sourced or what?

They likely license it for embedded use but not normal desktop use.

Maybe they're afraid of people creating their own Roku boxes and selling them. You'd think they'd want more subscribers though.

probably the codec for roku box is proprietary. Also roku uses arm processor.
