Hey guys,

I should preface this with the following facts:

I don't have ads on my site
I don't make money from my site
I pay if I go over my bandwidth
I run Ubuntu 9.10 x64 as my primary O/S

Now that's out of the way, I invite you to read my review of the Microsoft Sidewinder X5:
http://www.digit4l.net/2010/02/review-microsoft-sidewinder-x5-laser-mouse/

It's true that they make pathetic software, but their hardware division is superb and I have been pleasantly surprised by buying an MS mouse.
Discuss.

There is zero spam, keyloggers or malware in this review - I promise that. :)

It's true, that MS has very good hardware.

I have a MS wireless mouse, that works great with ubuntu.

They can afford to sell them very cheaply.

Good review, by the way.

Yeah, MS hardware isn't so bad, and I haven't seen any bad business practices relating to hardware either.

I think if MS went from software to hardware, leaving Linux to become a dominant operating system, everyone would be happy.

Except maybe the windows and office programmers, but they can find work developing Linux software.

You're crazy; Microsoft doesn't produce quality products. /sarcasm

My microsoft mouse broke more than once, though they always do offer decent support.

Now I'm with logitech.
I don't dislike microsoft's hardware, but I like logitech better.

Have been on MS Natural since they came out with it. I can't use any other keyboard, same goes for MS mouse and joystick. MS surely makes some quality hardware, thats a fact.

I'm not too sure about that. A microsoft keyboard I used to have has F1-F12 keys that simply will not work (that caused me grief when I had to press F6 to accept the license agreement to install XP in VirtualBox :P).

Also, another Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse set was alright, but because the keyboard only took AAA batteries, the keyboard kept on running out of batteries :(. Ah well, at least the mouse worked fine :)
