Just wondering, I thought about it the other day and I find it actually surprising that a distro hasn't been named noobix yet...at least I couldn't find one when searching through google or distrowatch.

Just can't believe it...I mean c'mon, someone out there has to have had the tongue-and-cheek humor to do it!

Noobuntu would surely be a better choice though.

Actually that would be cool... You know how when you start a new computer game the first level there's some character who shows you around and tells you what to do and says "What are you doing stop that!" when you make a mistake.. Someone like this:

Noobuntu may get confused with Nubuntu that is not for noobs.

Judging by their homepage (http://www.nubuntu.org/) i`m not sure it would really matter any more.

EDIT: I`m sure most folks looking for that particular type of Distro would already be using Backtrack anyway.

I haven't looked at Nubuntu in a while, I use Backtrack. That has nothing to do with the similarity of names however.:D

Yes, have a teacher anime character sit on your window bars, and watch you do your work, offer suggestions, point out mistakes, etc.

You can customize her look, anything from sexy to child-looking.
