What do you think is the best open source game on Ubuntu?

p.s. Please reply saying anything I've missed.

Out of the list? Battle For Wesnoth.

Otherwise I play Frozen Bubble and Urban Terror. I might give Nexuiz a try sometime.

IMO gaming on Linux is quite lame. That's what my ecksbawks is for.

I generally play Nexuiz or Sauerbraten. Although a few years ago I was sort of into FlightGear. Not enough to actually get anywhere near good at it though.

None of the above. I play puzzle games and board games on Linux, as those are the most mature and the most fun.

Torcs is the only decent one on the poll, and the only one that cross-platforms decently.

How on earth do you get "elitism" from wanting to play puzzle games? I suppose you're too anti-elitist to realize that puzzle games and board games are by far the most popular games played on computers.

Since you raised the subject, do elitists scare you?

If someone offers survival advice, I suppose some people would prefer death. Some people still believe there is wisdom in avoiding experts and relying on "individualism" or even on group wisdom, but even basic psychology classes will teach (and prove to you) otherwise.

Puzzle games are fun. My friends love Ubuntu because of all the card and board games. Their machine is an old server but used as a desktop. It runs Xubuntu well. Ubuntu for the win. :D

Where is openarena, and more importantly, where are the 'other' or 'I don't game' option?

If you don't game, you don't need to participate in a gaming thread. ;)

I think swoll misunderstood the tone of your post.

Although to be fair, you did seem to claim that your games were superior to other genres. It's not the fact that you like puzzle games, but the way you explained your reason for doing so.

Either way though, lets not start flaming over this.

Out of this list, battle for wesnoth. However this list is very limited and needs an "other" option.
