View Full Version : [all variants] Corrupted photos after copying on hard disc?

Hello,

It`s a quite frequent phenomenon since I upgraded to karmic and ext4, that I get some corrupted photographs!
You can still watch the photographs, but a part of the photo has weird colors or it is cut or something similar, that it looks like only some bytes are changing and not the whole photo is destroyed..
Is that a bug on ext4?

Check the following two attached photos how do they look!!

Anyone else having this problem?

I'm having this problem too. Fresh instalation of Ubuntu 10.10 and after I copied my photogalery to my new disc (from Win7 NTFS disc to new Ext4 disc), I'm getting a lot of corrupetd images randomly trough at least 1/4 of all photos.

Please help!!! Thought of losing so many photos is terrible!!!

Infortunately I have never found a solution to this :(
I am using ext3 with this computer without problems.

I have made a bug report in launchpad one year ago...
You could probably add some helpful debug information for the developers since I do not have this issue after I changed my computer..
