Reboot your computer and when you log back in count how many seconds it takes to load up various Linux native apps. I only counted manually and I think I may have been counting a little too fast.

Netbeans: 7
OpenOffice Writer: 5
Google Earth: 3.5
Firefox: 3
Stellarium: 2.5
Nexuiz: 2
Warzone 2100: 1.5
