Hi,
two days ago I have installed some updates suggested by Update Manager and after that wireless stopped working.
From network manager I see that the wireless is disabled but I don't know how to enable it.
I searched on this forum and tried a workaroud but it didn't work for me (remove network manager and install wicd).
I also found that maybe I need the "b43" module but I don't have it loaded in my kernel:

tarek@uTarek:~$ sudo lsmod | grep b43
tarek@uTarek:~$

Following some info of my system:

tarek@uTarek:~$ uname -r
2.6.31-19-generic
tarek@uTarek:~$ sudo lshw -C network

The wireless adapter seems hardware blocked:

tarek@uTarek:~$ sudo rfkill list
0: tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes
tarek@uTarek:~$ sudo rfkill unblock all
tarek@uTarek:~$ sudo rfkill list
0: tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes

How can I unlock it?

How can I unlock it?]Find the hardware wireless switch on your laptop and slide it back to 'On.' If you have none, there may be a problem with the operating system recognizing the hotkeys. If you suspect so, post the make and model of your laptop. Thanks.

Some help please?Same answer. Please see: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X60s
A tiny "Radio Frequency Kill Switch" is rather hidden below the front edge of the keyboard, it stops Wireless, Bluetooth and GSM/UMTS.
