When I attempted to upgrade Open Office, I got the following error

E: openoffice.org-evolution: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

I would appreciate some help figuring out how to proceed with the upgrade.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I wonder if there was a general problem with the normal upgrade of OOo yesterday from 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1 to 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1.1.

After doing that (and having a minor problem with the mailmerge package not updating because of the quickstart applet in system tray) I notice that the update does not show at all in Synaptic ->History, which is how I did the update.

OOo is working well with no problems that I'm aware of, but I am surprised that the upgrade does not show, for some reason, though I know I am running the upgraded version.

Try the Sun version: [Ubuntu] Installing OOo on Debian and Co. (http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=68)

No thanks.

I'm awaiting the update to 3.2 that should appear in the ppa very soon. I have used the manual install method before quite easily, and without major problems, but I still prefer to keep to ubuntu repos for software if at all possible.
