How about we find out how to open a booth in OKC at the next fair or technology show. For the sake of showing people how Ubuntu works and clear up misconceptions about Linux? Maybe hand out CDs.

EDIT: I bet non of you have even bought a shirt, hat, coffee mug, or even a mousepad! Do you want Linux (Ubuntu) to survive? We gotta spread the word in OKC!!!

ozzlives,
I like the idea of using a local technology fair or related event to promote Linux/Ubuntu. We should keep or eyes open for just such an opportunity.

Canonical does a lot for Linux, Ubuntu, and they also put food on the table for a lot of opensource developers. It was not that long ago that Canonicals future was uncertain. So I think supporting Canonical is a very worthwhile way to spend your greenbacks. A great way to support Canonical is to get a 50GB Ubuntu One account if you have a need for such a service.

thanks,

Doesn't the State Fair run in the spring? If we could get everyone to contribute to the cost of the booth, we'll reach a bunch of people. If that happens I'd like Canonical produced CDs instead of burned and hand written ones.
