View Full Version : [ubuntu] Shredder (Thunderbird) won't launch

Hi All
Not 100% sure whether this belongs on this forum but it seems the most relevant.

I've installed Ubuntu 9.10 on a Dell Inspiron 1501 and added Shredder 3 which was working fine. Last night I added a few more IMAPed mail accounts and upgraded the Folderpane Add-on. This morning Shredder just won't launch. There are no errors, the cursor shows busy for about twenty seconds while a "Starting Shredder ..." button appears on the bar at the bottom of the desktop, but they both disappear and there's no Shredder.

I have restarted the machine several times.

Could someone please point me in the direction of where I can start doing something. I thought /etc was the place to start but can't see anything there that seems related.

Coincidentally this morning both 3 Mobile Broadband and Vodafone Mobile Broadband won't work either, though they are still working on an XP machine. Maybe the problem is bigger than just Shredder.

Any help or direction would really be appreciated.
Thanks, Darren
