Hey, I'm a first time user of ubuntu 9.10. I'm trying to get lamp installed and it's obviously not part of the 9.10 cd, so I'm trying to get it over the internet.

I've googled the issue and from the information found I tried doing:

sudo apt-get install lamp-server^

I get an error saying "E: Couldn't find task lamp-server"

Someone told me that it's trying to find the package on a cd-rom and that I could edit a file somewhere in etc/apt/... to comment out a line of code that has it look for the package on the cd-rom. I'm not sure of the file though.

I also tried going and looking around the Ubuntu Software Center. I see bits and pieces about "MySQL" and "rapache", but nothing regarding LAMP. If i have to install each component separate (apache, php, mysql) I don't mind, but I'm not exactly sure what to look for in the software center.... as I eluded to above a mysql search returns info for mysql administrator, mysql query browser, mysql client, mysql navigator, mysql server, etc.... Do I need all that or perhaps just the mysql server  I would really just like to do the LAMP install though if possible.

Thanks for any help you can offer!
