Published a little too early.

Internet Explorer Six, resident of the interwebs for over 8 years, died the morning of March 1, 2010

it's not dead - it's got more market-share than webkit

I wish it would die
Unfortunately, the company I work for has developed numerous applications which run on IE6 ... for safe display of real time data .. process data shown live for managers etc ... and I know for certain that many, many competitors have done similar tag based apps.
There doesnt seem to be an alternative at the moment as most of these apps utilise ActiveX controls to host OPC clients or similar. IE8 is rubbish and IE7 doesnt quite cut it either for tag based apps.
I think it will be around annoying us for a long time yet
