I have just setup a new old computer. Now I'm looking for that needle in a hay stack, the other night I was looking for info on dual booting Ubuntu and Windoze XP I found a good page that had a few setup methods on it. The guy had a Ubuntu partition a home partition (ex3) and Windows partition and I think then a swap partition. He then suggested installing a file in windows called ex3? to make windows able to read the home partition.
Can someone help me find my Needle or have other good advice
Thanks for reading and any help you can give

A little more detailed step-by-step would be beneficial. Have a look here:

Not trying to be rude but if I had more detailed step by step I would not need to be asking this question

What he was doing was windoze and ubuntu used /home as storage place for files. eg Mydocuments windows / Home ubuntu all in the one place so windows and ubuntu share files.
He was using ext3 as file format share folder

I have just bought a 500Gb Hdd what I'm looking at doing is giving windoze 15Gb Ubuntu 15Gb? swap say 5Gb and the rest for files that both windows and linux can access
