Will Fresh install import files?

I have hardy installed on my laptop and want to do a fresh install to 9'10. Will this import my Documents , pix etc? Also I am interested in how well (or not) 9.10 works with the atheros wireless chipset ar5007. tia

I have them all in the home folder. I remember doing an install and being asked if I wanted to import files. at that time it wasnt needed but it sure would be nice now. Thanks for the quik reply
