View Full Version : Broken System on Thinkpad A31p

February 19th, 2010, 10:51 PM
So, I would love to have UNR on my lovely Thinkpad A31p, but every time I install it, I get to the Desktop, but cannot run ANY of the programs. Firefox, IM, settings, even terminal. They all come back with the error:

Failed to execute child process "command-here" (No such file or directory)

I thought I had a defective installation because I installed it from a CD. I don't have the option to install from USB as my Thinkpad does not support USB booting. I tried installing it via Wubi, but the metalink is no loner active, which left me to install it via wubi from the CD.

I downloaded the iso from the main Ubuntu website, and the MD5 matches. I was sure to burn it at a low speed (16x). I'm lost here! Does UNR have a different architecture than the traditional i686 architecture?! Please help!
