Hi,

My laptop crashed & died.

I recovered & managed to get acces to the data from the hard disk on another computers freshly installed Ubuntu 9.10.

1. If I want to transfer data and packages from the old HD to the new one, what should I copy apart from the /Home folder ?
2. Can I just copy-paste it to the same location on the new HD to make profiles & packages where they should be, installed ?

Thanks,
Z.

Allright,

Copying the homefolder into the fresh installed ubuntu was efficient.

I can also find the packages, but ain't there a more efficient way to install dependency-packages with the main packages without going through manually installing them one by one ??
