Apologies if this is off topic for this forum but:
Does anyone have any experience with problems mounting hard drives while using freeNX?
I have Ubuntu version 9.04 running Gnome desktop. There are 4 hard drives; three of which are NTFS formatted. I can unmount any of the NTFS drives from FreeNX, but when I ask the computer to mount them, it just sits there, doing nothing.
I can mount and unmount just fine at the computer. It's just the process while I'm logged in at the remote location.
Here's some new information:
It's turning out to be a newbie kind of problem (I'm a newbie, after all), but I just noticed that, from within the freeNX session at my remote location of about three feet away, I can't get the graphical "mount Manager" in Gnome to work. I click on it, and I get a brief symbol on the cursor like it's working, then it just goes away.
It seems like it's almost a permission thing, but I'm not getting an error message of any kind.
