Oh well, it looks like each and every one of us needs to do everything we can do to improve computer security. Out of the box solutions will just not do it for us.

calles the ZD article you link to "woefully misleading" but I agree we all need to scan for viruses, have a firewall etc ...

Hopefully all the articles remember to mention that everyone was give a shell account on the system..

Thats why I was amazed it took 30 minutes...
If it was behind a firewall and not givin any account access. Then it would have been a whole diferent ball of wax...

They had ssh access. This was too easy.

Seesh. I have already done the same thing with Ubuntu in less than 4. This guy is a joke. :rolleyes:

Haha.. Cute..
But I dont think it would be proper to comment about your system when I have never loged onto it before. Mind you I am no god, please dont think I am refering to my self as some kind of guru. I am not, I was however asst security manager at the last ISP I worked for before joining the military 6 years ago. Getting into THEIR system is what got me my job.
