So- I am correct in assuming that Linux os's are immune to these kinds of botnet spyware?

How do you know if your Windows computer is infected with this?

Thanks,

Botnets work by going out and trying to actively recruit (infect) other computers. To do this, they scan a large number of computers with the most common exploits. Linux boxes are not common and, in general, are better protected. Since there's little incentive to attack them, botnets in general won't even try.

You're not immune on Linux, but you might as well be. To know that your Windows box isn't infected, keep your anti-virus up-to-date and keep up with Windows updates. Not patching is the biggest cause of infection.
