View Full Version : [ubuntu] Errors on Installing new version of Firefox

Today, on checking Update Manager, I found 3 recommended updates - all relating to Firefox. When I tried to install those updates I received the following message:
An error occurred.
W: GPG error: http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates
Release: The following signatures were invalid: NODATA1 NODATA 2

Firefox won't load at all, so after a lot of searching and trying different things, I ended up installing the Epithany browser (which I am using now) and removing various Firefox packages (using the Ubuntu Software Centre).

When I tried to install Firefox (again using Software Centre) the following message appeared:
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/firefox-3.5-branding_3.5.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.10.1_i386.deb: subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/firefox-3.5_3.5.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.10.1_i386.deb: subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2

Can anyone help with suggestions as to how I get back Firefox please?
Thanks
Roger
