Question about Wii DLC

I have a friend that owns a Wii. I don't really know much about the console and I'm not sure if he has it hooked up to the Internet (I'll ask him later this week). I'd like to get him World of Goo for the Wii. However, it doesn't appear that there are any physical copies of the game, only downloads. I see it's on Amazon over WiiWare. Essentially, I buy the game and then they give me a code. My question is, once I have the code how does he get it on his machine? Assuming he has it hooked up to the Internet, does he just login to Wiiware and then put the code in? Does anyone have any experience with this service? Is the game tied to his Wii or his account?

Yes, he hooks up to the internet and downloads the game onto his wii.

BTW, excellent choice of a gift. I'm a big fan of world of goo.
