Yesterday I spoke to my Little Sister who is bored of Windows 7 and asked her about Ubuntu. She panicked and told me It would be hard but I convinced her Its the easiest thing. She didn't believe me so I told her "Your Windows 7 is slow!" Se said "I know" so I said "Try Ubuntu it will be faster" so she finally agreed and now she has Ubuntu on her PC! I'm jealous as hers runs Compiz "Extra Mode" and I only have a 2D driver for mine :(

She has a N Vida Ge Force and I have SiS (embarrassed to say).

So i wonder if this will pass on thorough the family into younger generations. It will for me When I am older I will teach my kids Ubuntu rather than Windows.

Also She Is gonna start learning and my Mam wants proof its easy before she converts or summet so I may convert the house!

That's cool. I hope you either left 7 on there or have means to reinstall it just in case Ubuntu isn't a good fit for her.

I installed 7 on all of our computers, but my son's laptop's GPU isn't supported well. So I finally put Ubuntu on there for him, which works better on his particular laptop. He loves it.

Sigh... kids nowadays don't know how to behave and do as they are told. In my days, everyone use a proper MS-DOS system in their computer like the way it's supposed to.

I blame the Internet for this rebellious uprising.

This reminds me of when I was a kid:

me:
C:\>dir DOOM
File not found
C:\>cd CHESS
C:\CHESS>doom
*plays doom to hearts content*

My Dad hid Doom because my Mum got pissed I was playing gory games all the time. Needless to say I found it. Aged about 8. :D

Okay... Remind me to ask you to help me with programming sometime...

On topic, I've got Ubuntu on a netbook. I don't consider it a serious OS... But then again, I was raised with Windows and Macs, so that could be a factor.

I'm working towards a full-linux school, though, with three of the teachers considering Ubuntu.
