Will my Vaio work with all its features with Ubuntu?

-Motion Eye
-Mouse Pad
-Video

If not please give advice that I can do before installing Karmic Koala

Burn a copy of Ubuntu to disc and boot the option 'try ubuntu without making changes to this computer'. This way you can check the driver compatibility before you actually install it to the laptop. Otherwise I think Sonys driver support page would be a good idea.

I installed Lucid on my Vaio VGN-NS10L and I've come across two roadblocks:

- it doesn't recognize internal microphone
- screen resolution is capped at 1280 x 800

Hurrah, the internal microphone works on version 10.10!

As far as I can tell (after about six months of home use), the only remaining bug on Ubuntu for Sony VGN-NS10L is the resolution cap of 1280x800.

The resolution cap can now be ignored using "newrez" script, link below.
