Hello, I'm a newbie at ubuntu, though I would call my myself proficient with Windows and OS X.

I am trying to build a simple web server, and have a new machine which I am trying to install ubuntu server on to.

The installation from CD proceeds fine until GRUB tries to install. It gets to 16% and says something along the lines of 'looking for other OS' or similar. At that point it just shows the installation step menu and waits for user input. Proceeding with the install just results in a system that doesn't want to boot.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience of this issue?

I think my problem was something to do with my Raid setup. It's a while ago now, so I'm afraid I can't remember the details.
