I am receiving trouble with Skype beta version 2.1. The web cam works fine but the microphone in the webcam does not work with skype. I tried to change the devices in Skype to another, however, I will not let me, it's stuck on pulse audio server (Local).

I been researching pulse audio and it's insane unreliability an amass difficulty level. Skype told me to uninstall pulse audio. I am a new linux user, can you tell me how to uninstall Pulse audio. and if you do have suggestions on getting my mic to work with skype, feel free to tell me.

Webcam: Logitech communicate MP
Linux Distro: Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty"

any more specs needed, please request.

I'm running Karmic 9.10 with Skype and a C-600 Logitech webcam.

In order to get the audio to work, I had to select the webcam mic (0808) in the Sound Preferences Hardware screen

Yes I got it to work with sound recorder. However, does not work with skype yet.

The audio devices within skype say Pulse Audio Server (local) Only. It does not give me the option to to switch to the web cam audio source. I still does not work with the test call.

any suggestions?
