Why isn't the default font in OpenOffice (as packaged by Ubuntu, anyway) FreeSans, Dejavu Sans, or Liberation Sans, any of which are more popular/compatible? Just a thought.

The default font in my openoffice is Times New Roman :/

It has to be something, and it is easy to change. I have been using arial for so long that I would have named that as default if asked...;)

It's not a huge deal. I don't know what license Arial is released under, so I don't know if that's is an option for Ubuntu. Liberation is Red Hat/GPL, and Dejavu is gaining ground. I've never seen Nimbus but for OOo.

Which Nimbus is the default? I've got mono L, Roman no 9 and Sans L.
Now that I have come to look at them, I must say they are actually all pretty ugly...;)
