I'm dumping ******* and wanting to try a new OS. I have downloaded a live disc that works fine on a laptop but when I try to boot up my PC using the live CD I get the following message:
Kernel panic - not syncing out of memory and no killable process
I can start the PC with *******, insert the CD and it will boot asking to install Ubuntu as a separate program with a OS selection menu if I reboot the machine. I can see the directory where Ubuntu was installed.
I have PC with ******* XP Pro Service Pack 2
2G Processor
2GB RAM, 1GBx266DDR (Non SPD)
Intel D845GEBV2
128 Cache
80 GB Drive
