KDE not working

Hi guys i just installed KDE and do i need to reinstall my video drivers for Nvidia 7800GT?
Cause it is giving me the same as when i just installed Ubuntu with distorted screen and if i need to install the vid card how do i do it? also is there a walk through or any kind of good docs i can read about kde and how to use it properly.

The driver for the video works with the X-server, which is common for all Linux graphical environments (Gnome and KDE included). So if you have to reinstall the driver, then this is a bug.

What happens exactly when you try to log in KDE and can you log in the default Gnome?
