Hi,

I am trying out the new version of Ubuntu (9.1 - genome) as new Linux user.
When I log in with my account (the only account on the desktop system), I get no wallpaper.

So I try to change the black background by rightclicking on it, choosing change background, in the appearing dialog box, going to second tab "background", choosing any of standard backgrounds or some of my own by clicking on any of them, and finally clicking on "Close". and ... NOTHING happends.

However if I log out and log back again as "guest" account, the background I choosed last time is there, covering the screen ...
This means that it's not a driver / monitor problem, so my question:

Where and what do I need to tweak to get it work?

regards,
