Hi
is there any timeframe to the next version? I might switzch from opensuse, at least try the next ubutntu version. Where can I see when it will be released?

Whats the diff between ubuntu/xubuntu? Actually I need all kde and some gnome and C++ dev.

Thanks

I believe this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ubuntu_releases#Release_history) is what you are looking for .

Ubuntu & Xubuntu differ in the User interface, pre-installed applications etc to start off.
Ubuntu - Gnome Desktop Environment
Xubuntu - Xfce

Your situation would be satisfied by a Kubuntu installation with gnome apps installed separately.

Thanks. What does LTS mean?

LTS means Long Term Supported. Usually it comes out every 2yr but it's not always a rule.
The next version, 10.04 comes out late April, and that's why it's called 10.04 (2010 April). It will be LTS. Next would be 10.10 which won't be LTS version, and so on... Every six months, so far.

Thanks didn't know that.
Look forward and hope that the sound will be less buggy.
